Outdoor & Landscape Lighting

Kerb appeal after dark, and a house that reads as occupied when you're away.

What's actually involved

Outdoor lighting does three things at once: it makes the house look considerably more expensive, it makes the path to the door safe, and it makes an empty house look occupied.

The difference between good and bad outdoor lighting is restraint. A few well-aimed fixtures beat a floodlit driveway every time.

Lighting plan

We walk the property at dusk and plan what to light and — just as importantly — what to leave dark.

Soffit pot lights

Evenly spaced along the roofline, aimed to wash the façade rather than glare at the street.

Landscape uplighting

Low-voltage uplights and well lights on trees and stonework, with a transformer sized for future additions.

Pathway and step lighting

Enough light to see the ground, not enough to blind anyone walking up it.

Winter-rated everything

Fixtures, gaskets and connections that survive freeze-thaw cycles and road salt.

Timers, photocells and app control

Dusk-to-dawn, scheduled, or controlled from your phone.

How the job runs

  1. 01

    Dusk walk-through

We look at the property after dark with you — plans made in daylight usually get it wrong.

  2. 02

    Plan and quote

Fixture positions, beam angles and circuits agreed in writing.

  3. 03

    Install

Soffit runs, buried low-voltage cable, transformer and controls fitted.

  4. 04

    Night aiming

We come back after dark to aim every fixture properly. This step is what separates a designed job from an installed one.

Questions we get every week

Very little. A full LED landscape system typically draws less than a single old incandescent floodlight, and on a timer it only runs when it is useful.
