What's actually involved

A Level 2 charger turns overnight parking into a full battery. But it is also one of the largest continuous loads you can add to a house, and that is exactly where cheap installations go wrong.

The Canadian Electrical Code requires a load calculation before a charger goes in. Skip it and you get nuisance trips at best, an overloaded service at worst.

CEC load calculation

We confirm your service can carry the charger before anything is ordered or mounted.

Dedicated 40–60A circuit

Correctly sized breaker and conductor for continuous duty, not the bare minimum.

Neat conduit routing

Runs planned so the finished job looks like it came with the house.

Charger mounting and commissioning

Mounted at a sensible height, tested under load, and paired to your app if it has one.

ESA permit and inspection

Filed and closed out by us.

Rebate paperwork

Where a program applies, we prepare the documentation you need to claim it.

How the job runs

  1. 01

    Photos or a site visit

Send a photo of your panel and where the car parks. That is usually enough for an accurate quote.

  2. 02

    Load calculation

If the service can't carry it, we tell you up front and quote the upgrade separately rather than discovering it on the day.

  3. 03

    Installation

Circuit run, charger mounted, everything tested. Most installs are done in half a day.

  4. 04

    Inspection and rebate

ESA closes the permit and we hand you the paperwork.

Questions we get every week

Many 100A panels can, with a load calculation and sometimes load management. Some cannot. We check first and tell you either way — that is the whole point of the calculation.
